In 1960, a visionary multi-position Lafuma relaxer was introduced into the leisure market to great success. Unbeknownst at the time, Lafuma's original design would be the beneficiary of over 50-years of continuous development, which would ensure it remained one of the most enduring reclining chairs ever made.
Lafuma are still continually updating, constantly innovating and introducing new multi position relaxers to the market place. The ever popular and well Known RSX and RSXA recliners are now joined by the very latest Lafuma R-Clip Batyline Recliner which offers the usual Lafuma quality at a very keen price point, Lafuma Futura Batyline Iso relaxer the go-to recliner in terms of relaxation and the stunning Lafuma Futura Air Comfort recliner featuring a technically advanced three layer weatherproof padded seat that is extremely quick drying. These contemporary relaxer chairs combine great quality with inspirational design, taking pride of place over the entire Homestead Caravans display of camping furniture.
For sheer comfort, Lafuma R-Clip, Lafuma Futura Batyline Iso and Futura Air Comfort are truly unbeatable, allowing stability in an infinite number of positions from upright to True 'Zero Gravity', these recliners have been specifically designed with your relaxation in mind. The only trouble is you keep falling asleep.
True 'Zero Gravity'
To be classed as a TRUE 'Zero Gravity' chair the angle of RELAXATION must be 127 degrees, any other angle is imprecise. This has allegedly been proven by NASA to be fact.
With many other brands of Outdoor Furniture, when you rise up after long periods of use the body can feel aches and pains. Lafuma Recliners are being used in neonatal units around the world for parents who need to lie with their premature babies and have uninterrupted skin to skin contact with them for up to 8 hours; that's pretty amazing!
When fully reclined in a Lafuma Recliner, the ankles of the user are slightly above the level of the heart, this gradually slows the heart rate down as there is less work for the heart to do. Lafuma have demonstrated that after 4 minutes in one of thie TRUE 'Zero Gravity' Recliners (Lafuma Futura Air Comfort, Lafuma Futura & Lafuma R Clip), the heart rate is reduced and the person feels more relaxed.
Lafuma continue to manufacturer their products in France and unlike most manufacturers have resisted the temptation to mass produce products in Asia. The brand is extremely popular amongst consumers throughout Europe and is renowned for producing market leading products that inspire confidence and trust. Their products feature patented designs that other furniture manufacturers often attempt to imitate however, it has proven impossible to replicate the intrinsic quality offered by Lafuma furniture.
Lafuma Batyline Fabrics
Lafuma always use top quality materials and incorporate great attention to detail into their designs, making Lafuma furniture considerably unique in the market place. Lafuma are renowned for the quality of the materials and fabrics used in the manufacture of their furniture range, most of which are sourced within a 200kms range of the factory. The fabrics used by Lafuma are chosen for their high resistance to abrasion, ultra-violet light, tearing and stretching.
Lafuma Air Comfort Fabric - Manufactured from three layers of technologically advanced fabric, an ultra breathable top layer, a padded permeable, middle layer and a Batyline base layer. Practically this means you have a wonderfully comfortable, padded seat that does not retain water, promotes air circulation and is extremely quick drying.
Lafuma's R Clip System - The Lafuma R Clip, Lafuma Futura and Futura Air Comfort all feature Lafuma's patented revolutionary R Clip system which uses elastomere clips which form the link between the frame tubing and fabric to offer firmer comfort and excellent back support, and is 100 times more durable than ordinary lacing systems, which have a tendency to stretch over time and become frayed, which could alter the even balance of the fabric. The simple clip on system also means that, should you wish to clean or replace the Recliner canvas, removing it takes minutes as you will no longer need to lace and unlace the seat, just clip in in and relax.
Batyline is the fabric used on the Lafuma RSX Relaxer and Cham Elips chairs. Batyline is extremely strong and provides full support whilst remaining supple, which makes it perfect for supporting occupants regardless of size and weight. Batyline intelligent weave allows air and liquid to pass freely through it without returning water, whilst the synthetic nature of the fabric prevents deterioration in humid atmospheres. Batyline also provides excellent resistance to UV rays and incorporates antifungal treatment. Batyline is also very resistant to tearing, does not distort and is easy to maintain. Cleaning the fabric is simple, needing only a brush and soapy water plus, it is also environmentally friendly!
Subsequently Lafuma Batyline fabric is perfectly suited to any environment the Great Outdoors has to throw at it, so whether you're camping with friends and family, relaxing in the garden or lazing by the pool, you can be sure that Lafuma won't let you down.
The Lafuma Cham Elips is available in a choice of modern colours and is a particular favourite amongst camping enthusiasts as the aluminium frame is extremely lightweight at only 2.9kg. Lafuma Cham Elips lightweight makes it easy to handle and very portable plus, it folds very flat for easy storage, making the Cham Elips an ideal chair for transporting in the caravan or motorhome. It is also extremely comfortable to use on the campsite.
Lafuma Steel and Aluminium Frames
Lafuma uses materials and manufacturing processes that are simple and safe across its entire outdoor furniture ranges. Tubular steel and aluminium frames are chosen throughout the range due to their strength, versatility and contemporary good looks.
The Lafuma RSX Recliner features HLE tubular steel, with an unbeatable high-strength to low-weight ratio. HLE steel is 15% lighter than other steels of the same strength, which permits a talented degree of flexibility that is taken full advantage of during the design and manufacturing processes. The sheer quality of the HLE steel allows Lafuma to create strong, smooth curves in the frames. In unsurprising to learn that HLE steel is not the cheapest but it's versatility allows the creation of superior furniture that is easily appreciated. Lafuma steel frames receive multiple coats of paint, which enhance the furniture's appearance and offers comprehensive protection against the elements.
The aluminium alloys used in Lafuma’s products such as the Champ Elips high back chair, have been carefully selected based on strict performance criteria. Alloy frames are lightweight, easy to handle and not susceptible to age or weather induced wear. Unlike cheaper alternatives Lafuma’s aluminium framed products have been shown to stand the test of time.
