When you need to know whether your supply of gas will last: the New Dometic Gas Checker Pen GC100 identifies the amount of gas left in just a few seconds! Using the probe, it is placed on various points on the surface of the bottle horizontally. If there is gas in the bottle at the point where the measurement is taken, then the Dometic Gas Checker signal lamp lights up in green. At those points where there is no gas, it changes to red

To get the best out of your CG100, it is important that you understand how to use it to its best advantage - it is a complex piece of technology and the compact design does mean that it is quite sensitive to improper use. All of the important points are covered in the product manual but are also covered here to ensure you do not miss them.
How to Use It:
One very important factor is the cleanliness of both the bottle and rubber tip of the GC100. Clean the bottle from top to bottom, ensuring a clean area at least 50mm wide. Again using a wet wipe, or damp, or damp cloth clean the rubber tip - a gentle wipe should do.
With your spare hand on the bottle (very important - it reduces background interference), apply the tip squarely to the clean area (avoiding any welds, rust, uneven areas of paint or the curves at the top and bottom) Once in contact, push the unit towards the bottle in a smooth motion and when fully depressed, maintain light pressure to it, ensuring that the pen is at 90 degrees to the centre.
Maintain the pressure until the flashing light settles on either red or green.
There is a knack to it!
If you have a bottle with a known level of gas, you can use it to perfect the application technique. This may seem excessive but you will find that once you "have it" then you will get years of good use out of the GC100 and you will soon list it as one of your "must haves" for any trip.
